The annual Alumni Homecoming Tailgate went great. We had nearly 100 alums return from all eras. Many from out of state, and one who lives in Japan now. It was a great experience for our current brothers and pledges to meet so many alums and hear the stories that have only gotten better over time.
Tragically, the success of the event was marred by the death of one of the current brothers less than an hour after it ended due to a motorcycle accident, which was unrelated to the event. Neither alcohol nor drugs were involved.
Every semester we try to bring a few local alumni back to take the undergrads who made a 3.5 GPA or higher out for dinner at Arni's. If you are an alum in the area and would like to participate, click here.
This year AKΛ's national Conclave was held in Chicago during the first weekend in August. Kappa received the Founder's Award as the top AKΛ chapter in the country for 2009-2010.
